Box Score Alliance, OH – The SUNY Brockport men's basketball faced Mount Union on the road Friday night. The squad lost to the Purple Raiders, 100-71, to move to 1-2 on the season.
Mount Union got off to a hot start, jumping out to a 14-0 lead in the first four minutes of action. The Golden Eagles finally got going and began to chip away at the deficit. They still trailed however, 37-25, with 5:33 left until halftime. Mount Union would hold onto its double digit lead at the break, 50-32.
In the second half Brockport had a tough time getting back into the game. Mount Union led by as many as 35 points in the half on the way to the 29-point victory.
Nathaniel Gordon scored a team-high 14 points om 5-for-8 shooting from the floor.
Zachary Rice had 13 points, shooting 5-for-7 from the field and went 3-for-4 from downtown.
The Golden Eagles are back on the road Saturday for another Ohio matchup against John Carroll at 3pm.
