Ithaca, NY – The SUNY Brockport gymnastics teams picked up another win on Sunday, defeating Ithaca 192.050-187.550 at the Hariett Marranca Memorial Invite.
Both
Rachel Swick and
Lienna Kay added their names to the history books. Swick's 9.875 on the bars sets a new program record for the event. Kay set a new standard on the balance beam, scoring the need record at 9.875.
The Golden Eagles had two of the top three scores for all four events on the day. On the vault, it was
Maren Eramo's 9.750 that won the event.
Emma Grace Sargent had the second-best score in the event with her 9.675. As a team, Brockport scored a total of 48.025 on the vault.
Rachel Swick provided the highlight on the uneven bars, posting a school-record score of 9.875. The previous mark belonged to Sargent at 9.850, set earlier this season. Swick took first on the bars, while
Taylor Bushey (9.700) and
Lienna Kay (9.600) placed second and third. The three led the Green and Gold to a 47.600 for the event.
The Golden Eagles had one of the best balance beam performances in program history, scoring a 48.325.
Lienna Kay paced them with a school-record showing for a 9.875, tying for first in the event.
Natalie Galioto owned the previous record at 9.825 last year. Maya Mercoraro hit 9.700 for the third-best beam score of the meet.
On the floor the team combined for a 48.100 in the event to help pull further away from the Bombers.
Laken Sooy and
Kirsten Paultre both earned scores of 9.725 on the floor for the second-best score in the event.
The Golden Eagles will be home next weekend for the Brockport Tri-Meet. They will host Ursinus and Springfield for a 2pm start on Sunday, February 25
th.
