Brockport, NY – The Golden Eagle gymnastics team put together a great performance in Sunday's home Tri-Meet. Brockport picked up wins against Ursinus and Springfield by tying the program record with 193.700 points. The team is now 15-1 on the season.
To go with nearly setting a new program record for a team score,
Lienna Kay rewrote the history books once again. The freshman broke her own balance beam record (9.875 set on 2/18/24) with an outstanding mark of 9.900 on the day.
The Green and Gold got the meet started on the vault, posting a 48.175 score for the highest mark of the day for the event.
Maren Eramo was the event winner, scoring a 9.825 to lead the way.
Emma Grace Sargent was second on the vault with her score of 9.725.
In the second rotation, Brockport would take its turn on the uneven parallel bars. The team earned a 47.350 on the bars, outscoring both Ursinus and Springfield once again. Adding to her day,
Maren Eramo was the event winner once again with a 9.700.
Rachel Swick was close behind in second on the bars with her score of 9.675.
The Golden Eagles had an incredible day on the balance beam, hitting a 49.200 for a season-high. They outscored both opponents in the event for a third rotation in a row, and also claimed the top five individual scores.
Lienna Kay won the event with her record-breaking 9.900.
Laken Sooy and
Kiara Hockman tied for second place on the beam (9.875), while
Natalie Galioto and
Maya Pecoraro tied for fourth (9.775).
Looking to lock up victories in the fourth rotation, the squad scored a meet-best 48.975 on the floor.
Laken Sooy was the event winner with her best score of 9.900 on the day.
Kiara Hockman was great as well, posting a 9.825 to tie for second place.
Lienna Kay tied for fifth on the floor with a 9.775.
The Golden Eagles have a short week before their Senior Night on Friday, March 1
st. They play host to Utica University for a dual meet at 6pm in the Tuttle North Gymnastics Center.
