Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport gymnastics team earned the dual victory against Cortland at home on Saturday, 190.775-188.525. Brockport is now 7-1 on the season.
To go with the win, the Golden Eagles also had a change to its record books.
Emma Grace Sargent posted a 9.850 on the uneven parallel bars to set a new program record for the event. The previous record was set at 9.800 and was held by teammate
Taylor Bushey.
In the first rotation of the meet, Brockport posted a vault score of 48.150.
Maren Eramo was the event winner on the vault with her score of 9.825 on the day.
Emma Grace Sargent scored a 9.700 on the vault for second place in the event.
The Golden Eagles had the three highest scores on the bars in the second rotation, on the way to a team score of 47.650 in the event. Sargent's school record of 9.850 on the bars was good for first place on the day.
Lienna Kay was second with her 9.725, while
Taylor Bushey came in third with a 9.700.
Although Brockport's beam score of 46.250 was the lowest event total of the day, it was still ahead of Cortland's beam score of 45.675.

Maya Pecoraro took third on the beam with her 9.500.
In the final rotation of the day, the Green and Gold hit a 48.725 on the floor for the team's best event score of the day.
Natalie Galioto and
Kirsten Paultre tied for first place in the event, each posting a 9.825.
Lienna Kay went uncontested in the all-around competition. She finished with a 38.600 thanks to scores of 9.500 (vault), 9.725 (bars), 9.675 (beam), and 9.700 (floor).
The Golden Eagles head to Cornell University next weekend for the Empire State Collegiate Championship on Saturday, February 11
th.
