Another Weekly Award: On Monday it was announced that Brockport's Lienna Kay was selected as the NCGA East All-Around Gymnast of the Week. This is the second time this season that she has earned this weekly honor.

Lienna continues to have a strong season in her freshman year with the Golden Eagles. She posted an all-around score of 38.600 in this past weekend's dual victory over Cortland with a team score of 190.775. Kay hit scores of 9.500 on the vault, and new personal bests of 9.725 on bars, 9.675 on beam, and 9.700 on floor.

Setting a New Standard: In Brockport's last meet, Emma Grace Sargent made program history with her routine on the uneven parallel bars. She scored a 9.850 to break the school record for the event, which was previously held by teammate Taylor Bushey at 9.800. Sargent's record-breaking performance was key in the team's win at home against Cortland.

Last Meet: The Golden Eagles defeated the Cortland Red Dragons in a home dual meet last weekend, 190.775-188.525. They are now 7-1 on the season after the win in the Tuttle North Gymnastics Center.

In the first rotation of the meet, Brockport posted a vault score of 48.150. Maren Eramo was the event winner on the vault with her score of 9.825 on the day. Emma Grace Sargent scored a 9.700 on the vault for second place in the event.

The Golden Eagles had the three highest scores on the bars in the second rotation, on the way to a team score of 47.650 in the event. Sargent's school record of 9.850 on the bars was good for first place on the day. Lienna Kay was second with her 9.725, while Taylor Bushey came in third with a 9.700.

Although Brockport's beam score of 46.250 was the lowest event total of the day, it was still ahead of Cortland's beam score of 45.675. Lienna Kay's 9.675 in the event was good for second place. Maya Pecoraro took third on the beam with her 9.500.

In the final rotation of the day, the Green and Gold hit a 48.725 on the floor for the team's best event score of the day. Natalie Galioto and Kirsten Paultre tied for first place in the event, each posting a 9.825.

Looking at Sunday: Brockport will be set to compete against several teams at Sunday's Empire State Collegiate Championship meet. Cornell, Cortland, Ithaca, LIU, and Utica will all be competing at the Newman Arena at Bartels Hall in Ithaca, NY. After getting to rest in the first rotation the squad will get its first go in rotation two, starting on the floor. Then in the third rotation Brockport will hit the vault. Rotation four will be another chance to rest, before closing out the meet on the bars and beam in the final two rotations.

Up Next: The Golden Eagles will be on the road once again next weekend. They head to Ithaca on Sunday, February 18th to compete in the annual Harriet Marranca Memorial Invite.
