Collegeville, PA – The SUNY Brockport gymnastics team traveled to Ursinus College this weekend to compete at the NCGA Championships. The Golden Eagles finished in fourth place with a team score of 193.075.
With the top eight finishers in each event earning All-American status, Brockport had five gymnasts earn the honor on Saturday.
Maren Eramo (Vault),
Kiara Hockman (Vault),
Taylor Bushey (Bars),
Emma Grace Sargent (Bars), and
Kirsten Paultre (Floor) all became All-Americans.
Maren Eramo – Vault Co-Champion & All-American
Eramo earns All-American status on the vault for a second consecutive year. This time around she tied for first place in the event with a score of 9.825 to be named the 2024 NCGA National Vault Co-Champion.
Kiara Hockman – Vault All-American
In her first appearance on the national stage, freshman
Kiara Hockman earned All-American status on the vault. She tied for fifth place in the event with her score of 9.750 on the day.
Taylor Bushey – Bars All-American
With her performance on the bars on Saturday,
Taylor Bushey becomes an All-American for the second time in her career in the event. She scored a 9.775 to place fifth on the uneven parallel bars at nationals this weekend.
Emma Grace Sargent – Bars All-American
Emma Grace Sargent also becomes a two-time All-American on the bars for the Green and Gold. She received a score of 9.725 at nationals this time around, tying for eighth place in the event.
Kirsten Paultre – Floors All-American
Kirsten Paultre joins some of her teammates by earning her second career All-American honor. She tied for seventh place on the floor with her score of 9.825 on the national stage.
Brockport took fourth place at nationals behind UW-Lacrosse (3
rd – 193.175), UW-Whitewater (2
nd – 193.575), and UW-Oshkosh (1
st – 194.975).
The Golden Eagles posted a 48.675 on the floor for their best event of the meet. The floor squad was led by
Kirsten Paultre's 9.825 score (T-7
th).
Kiara Hockman added a 9.775 (T-15
th), while
Laken Sooy hit a 9.750 (T-20
th).
Brockport's second-best event of the weekend proved to be the vault, where the team scored a 48.450.
Maren Eramo's 9.825 was enough to be named the co-champion for the event. Hockman scored a 9.750 (T-5
th),
Emma Grace Sargent earned a 9.700 (T-9
th), and
Lienna Kay posted a 9.650 (T-19
th).
Brockport then scored a 48.000 as a team on the uneven parallel bars.
Taylor Bushey led the way with her 9.775 performance (5
th). Sargent came back to score again for the squad with her 9.725 (T-8
th).
Aladiana Tosado had a solid showing with her score of 9.650 (T-11
th).
On the balance beam, the Green and Gold put together a score of 47.950. Hockman scored once again for the team, thanks to her 9.750 (T-14
th).
Natalie Galioto also earned a Top-20 score with her 9.700 (T-19
th) on the beam.
The Golden Eagles have now officially wrapped up the 2024 season as the fourth place team at the NCGA Championships. They went 16-1 in dual competition during the regular season and claimed a fourth straight NCGA East Regional Title this year.
