Brockport, NY –
Scott Ochsner of the SUNY Brockport football team will have the chance to impress NFL scouts after being invited to a pair of Pro Days this month. Ochsner will head to the University of Buffalo Pro Day on March 14
th and then goes to the Syracuse University Pro Day on March 18
th.
During these pro days the Golden Eagle will participate in several traditional combine drills, as well as offensive line specific drills. When asked about the upcoming events Scott voiced his excitement and gratitude.
"I'm excited to represent Brockport football. I'm also very thankful to the University of Buffalo and Syracuse University for allowing me to showcase my abilities. I'm hoping to gain an opportunity to continue my football career at the next level. I'd like to thank Coach Potter and Coach Mangone for developing me into the player I am today. Brockport has been a great home to me, and I hope to make them as well as my family proud."
Ochsner has put together a successful career at Brockport as a team captain and leader of the offensive live group. He has been with the team for five seasons, during which the Golden Eagles have racked up a combined record of 43-13 overall. This includes a 25-6 record in the Empire 8, resulting in two E8 Titles (2018 & 2019). Brockport has participated in the postseason five times in this span, with two runs into the NCAA DIII Championship Tournament.
Head Coach
Jason Mangone had nothing but praise for the team captain when asked about what Scott brings to the table.
"It's always imperative when your best players are your hardest workers, and Scott is just that. He knew from day 1 that he had to work hard to get his body to where he needed it to play at a high level and all he did was put his head down and worked. He worked in front of his peers and when nobody was looking; a true leader by example."
Since joining the Golden Eagle football program as a freshman in 2018, Scott has officially developed into an NFL prospect through the years. After playing just one game in his first year with the team, his hard work and leadership has elevated his play on the field. Ochsner started in 30 games on the offensive line in his career, helping pave the way for one of the top rushing attacks in the conference each year.
Most recently in 2023, the Brockport offense ranked 22
nd in the nation with an average of 211.5 rushing yards per game. After the team rushed for 288 yards and four touchdowns against Utica this past season, Scott was recognized as a member of the D3football.com National Team of the Week.
Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach
Steve Potter provided his thoughts on what Ochsner brought to the offensive line group daily. He stated, "Scott came in everyday and set the standard in everything we do. Every day, every practice, and every game he set the standard for us."
Throughout his career, Ochsner has earned multiple individual accolades for his work on the field. He was a two-time 1
st-Team All-Empire 8 selection (2021 & 2023), named 2
nd-Team All-ECAC (2023), and 3
rd-Team All-Region by D3football.com (2023).
