Brockport, NY- The SUNY Brockport Field Hockey team will open its inaugural season of Empire 8 competition on Saturday, August 31
st, heading to Meadville, PA to take on Juniata College at 2:00 p.m. before taking on Allegheny on Sunday, September 1
st at 1 p.m.
2023 Recap: The Golden Eagles put together a historic 2023 campaign, beginning the season with a 6-0 record for the first time in program history, outscoring their opponents 29-5 over that stretch. Brockport would finish the season with an 11-7 record, posting a 3-3 record in conference play to secure a SUNYAC tournament matchup against Cortland. Following the 4-0 defeat at Cortland to conclude the year, the Golden Eagles earned serval individual and team accomplishments.
Run it Back: Despite the loss of impact seniors
Bailey Lazore and
Jillian Owens, the Golden Eagles return an excellent 2023 junior class that led Brockport to a strong 2023 season. The Green and Gold will enter the 2024 season returning nine of its top ten goal-scorers from 2023, as well as 7 players who logged 700 minutes or more last season (

Kelsey Zehr,
Emmalee Moore,
Ella Buchanan,
Tiffany Andres,
Kalena Eaton).
Between the Pipes: Brockport will also return the strong goalie tandem of All-Conference 1
st team selection
Ella Buchanan and Junior
Katelynn Banning. The duo combined for 109 saves and a 1.39 goals-against average, with Buchanan posting a 9-7 record with a 1.55 GAA in over 850 minutes of game action. The Golden Eagles will also welcome freshman goalie
Lauren Mastromarco into the fold to further bolster their goaltending depth.
Added Experience: In addition to their already-experienced core, the Golden Eagles added St. John Fisher graduate transfer
Samantha Choate. Choate finished the 2023 season with 10 goals and 2 assists for 22 points on the year, earning Second Team All-Empire 8 honors.
Fresh Faces: Brockport welcomes the 2024 freshman class of

Roster Outlook: The 2024 roster will feature 5 freshmen, 3 sophomores (
Madison Kirkpatrick,
Autumn Kramer,
Sophia Jones), 2 juniors, 8 seniors, and 1 graduate student.
E8 Outlook: The Golden Eagles will open Empire 8 play at Elmira on Saturday, September 21
st before hosting Houghton (September 28
th, noon) and Keuka (October 2
nd, 4 p.m.). The remainder of the Empire 8 slate will include games vs Hartwick (October 12
th, 3 p.m.), at Nazareth (October 19
th, noon), vs Geneseo (October 23
rd, 4 p.m.) at Utica (October 26
th, 5 p.m.), and St. John Fisher (October 31
st, 7 p.m.). In 2023, Brockport posted an impressive 5-1 record against Empire 8 opponents.
Scouting Juniata: The Eagles finished the 2023 season with a 6-11 record and a 3-6 mark in conference play. Juniata returns leading scorer Sydney Witter, who scored 22 points on 8 goals and 6 assists in 2023.
Scouting Allegheny: The Gators posted a 5-11 record in 2023, finishing 3-7 in conference contests. Emily Robles returns as Allegheny's top goal scorer from 2023, posting a team 2
nd best 8 points with 3 goals.
