Brockport, NY – This weekend the SUNY Brockport volleyball team will begin the 2024 campaign at the DeSales University Quad down in Pennsylvania. The Golden Eagles open the year against the host school, DeSales, at 7pm on August, Friday 30
th.
DeSales Quad Info: Brockport will play three matches at the invitational for opening weekend. The action starts Friday night at 7pm against DeSales. Then on Saturday, the squad will take on Stevenson University at 12pm. The trip wraps up with a 2pm matchup against Rutgers-Camden on Saturday.

Soaring into the Empire 8: SUNY Brockport, Geneseo and SUNY Poly are all set to begin play as official members of the Empire 8. With these new additions to the conference, the E8 will be comprised of 12 members all located in New York State and will sponsor 26 NCAA Division III sports. After claiming eight conference titles in the SUNYAC, Brockport will look to continue its tradition of success in a new conference.
Coach Clar's 1st Season: After taking over the reigns of the program for the start of the 2023 season, Head Coach
Jim Clar is set for his second season at Brockport. Year one resulted in a 16-14 overall record with a 6-3 mark in conference play. After a 3-0 sweep of Buffalo State in the first round of the SUNYAC Tournament, the team fell to Cortland, 3-1, in the SUNYAC Semifinals. Under Clar's coaching, Brockport had three All-SUNYAC selections in 2023 to go with one AVCA All-Region and All-American selection.
Golden Eagle Returners: The 2024 roster will feature six returning players from last season's team. Included in this group of returners are All-SUNYAC selections
Alenna Williamson and
Kaitlyn Jewett (Both 3
rd-Team All-SUNYAC in 2023). Also back for the Golden Eagles are
Alexis Sison,
Gianna Felipe,
Elsie Logan, and
Maddy Howell.
Collection of New Faces: With a new year comes new faces and the Golden Eagles are refreshing the roster with nine new members to the program. They welcome
Alyssa Bruno,
Anna Cascapera,
Ellie Cusmano,
Kaylee Dickerson-Holly,
Lauren Emke,
Lauryn Forand,
Grace Ippoliti,
Grace Letterman, and
Regina Salazar. Keep an eye out for which newcomers will make an immediate impact for the team on the court this season.
Weekend Competition: To open the year Brockport will first matchup with DeSales University on Friday night. The Bulldogs finished last season 12-17 overall with a 4-3 record in the MAC. The team's second match of the invitaional is against Stevenson, who ended 2023 with a 22-8 overall record. The Mustangs went 6-1 in the MACC and earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament. The weekend will close with a match against Rutgers-Camden. The Scarlet Raptors went 14-13 last year with a 3-5 mark against opponents in the NJAC.
RIT Invitational Ahead: Following the first weekend of the season, the Golden Eagles will begin preparing for another weekend slate. They will compete at the RIT Invitational on September 6
th and 7
th, with matchups against Hamilton, Springfield, and Buffalo State scheduled.
