Brockport, NY - The Brockport field hockey team will open Empire 8 play at Elmira on Saturday, September 21^st at 4:30 p.m.
 
Last Outing: The Golden Eagles dropped a hard-fought battle against #18 Ithaca College, 2-0, on Wednesday, September 18^th. Brockport fell to 3-3 on the season following the loss.
 
Katelynn Banning started between the pipes for Brockport and was strong in defeat, saving seven Ithaca shots.
 
Allison Greene recorded the lone shot on goal for Brockport in the contest.
 
The Brockport defense was excellent throughout, shutting out the Bombers in 3 of 4 periods.

As a team, Brockport ranks first in the Empire 8 in both goals against average (1.43) and save percentage (0.829). In addition, the Green and Gold are currently third in the E8 in both winning percentage and shutouts per game.
 
Hot Streak: Recording Brockport's lone shot on goal against Ithaca, Allison Greene has continued her shot-on-goal streak in her first year as a Golden Eagle. Greene has posted a shot on goal or better in all six contests, currently leading Brockport in points (11), assists (5), and shots on goal (16).
 
Scouting Elmira: The Soaring Eagles sit at 0-3 to begin the season, most recently suffering an 11-1 loss at Wikes University. The Golden Eagles will enter Saturday's matchup looking to extend its winning streak to five in the head-to-head series.
