Brockport, NY – On Sunday, January 26
th the SUNY Brockport gymnastics team picked up another dual victory at home against Rhode Island College. With a final score of 192.925-192.125, Brockport is now 3-0 on the season.
Back in the Tuttle North Gymnastics Center, the Golden Eagles started the first rotation on the vault. Led by a pair of 9.775 scores from
Kiara Hockman and
Maren Eramo, they totaled a 48.075 to start the meet.
Gracie Weaver earned a 9.625, while
Shannon Gibbs hit a 9.600 on the vault.
Emma Langdon rounded out the scoring with a 9.300 for the event.
Moving into the second rotation, Brockport would end up scoring a total of 47.225 on the uneven bars.
Emma Brookins led the effort with a 9.600. The squad also received scores of 9.575 from
Aladiana Tosado, 9.550 from
Maren Eramo, 9.525 from
Julia Klucinec, and an 8.975 from
Alexis Schulman.
Halfway through the meet, Rhode Island held a slight edge in the running score at 95.375-95.300.
The Golden Eagles put forth a better showing in the third rotation as the balance beam squad had its turn.
Amelia York posted a team-best score of 9.775 on the beam, although several teammates were close behind.
Kiara Hockman and
Emma Brookins both earned a 9.725, while
Maya Pecoraro received a 9.700.
Lienna Kay finished up the scoring on the beam with a 9.675.
On the beam in the third rotation, Brockport totaled 48.600 for the overall score. Rhode Island's 48.600 on the floor kept the visitors ahead, 143.975-143.900, going into the fourth and final rotation.
The Golden Eagles finished strong on the floor with a 49.025 to take the victory, 192.925-192.125.
Kiara Hockman nailed her routine for a 9.900 and
Emma Brookins was right there as well with her 9.875. The entire group performed well as
Cali Czarcinski earned a 9.825,
Jamarie Saravia had a 9.750, and
Maya Pecoraro scored a 9.675.
Kiara Hockman and
Maren Eramo tied as event winners at the meet with their 9.775 scores on the vault. On the balance beam, it was
Amelia York who took first on the day with her 9.775. Hockman came back with a 9.900 on the floor to win her second event of the meet.
The Golden Eagles will be on the road next weekend for a trip to face West Chester University of Pennsylvania on Saturday, February 1
st at 1pm.
