Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's basketball team is on the road Tuesday night for an Empire 8 matchup with a familiar foe. The Golden Eagles head to Geneseo for a 7:30pm tip-off, as the two teams meet as E8 opponents for the first time.
Weekend Sweep at The Vlog: Recently the Golden Eagles picked up back-to-back wins on their home floor in conference play. On Friday the squad took down Houghton, 88-76. Then the next day the home crowd saw Brockport defeated Alfred, 85-53. Now above .500 at 9-8 overall, Brockport is tied at the top of the conference standings (with Nazareth) at 7-1 in league play.
Gordon's 3-Point Barrage: Sophomore
Nathaniel Gordon torched the Houghton Highlanders from deep at home on Friday night.
Nathaniel Gordon emerged as a standout at The Vlog, scoring a career-high 25 points while hitting 8 of 11 baskets and an impressive 7 of 8 from beyond the arc. On the season, he is shooting 42.6% from downtown with 23 makes on 54 attempts.
Recent Double-Doubles: This past weekend Brockport saw both
Zachary Rice and
Tony Arnold register a double-double. First up was Rice's performance in the win over Houghton. He finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds to go with his four assists. The next game, Arnold stuffed the stat sheet in just 18 minutes of action. He totaled 16 points, 10 boards, four assists, and two steals.
Quick Look at Geneseo: Heading into their home game on Tuesday night, the Geneseo Knights have lost four in a row. They are 5-12 overall and own a 2-6 mark in Empire 8 play so far this season. The team features three double-digit scorers, with #25 Sebastian Pacheco leading the way at 13.7 points per game.
