Golden Eagles Celebrate Highest Department GPA Since Spring 2020

SUNY Brockport student-athletes earned a Fall 2024 semester grade point average of 3.26 and currently hold a 3.22 cumulative GPA across 23 varsity sports. Making this feat even more impressive is the fact that Brockport has one of its largest cohorts of student-athletes in program-history, as the department has climbed to 786 total athletes.

Brockport's Fall 2024 GPA of 3.26 is the highest semester GPA dating back to the Spring of 2020 when the Golden Eagles posted a 3.27 with just over 600 student-athletes competing.

During the fall semester of 2024, 62 student-athletes finished with a 4.0 GPA. A total of 368 student-athletes finished with a 3.4 or higher, while 547 earned a 3.0 GPA or higher.

This fall there were 13 teams on campus that held a 3.3 GPA or better for the semester. In total, 19 teams earned a 3.0 or better for the semester. Brockport women's cross country led the way with a 3.64 team GPA (31 student-athletes), while gymnastics finished second with a 3.58 GPA (25 student-athletes).  Women's basketball posted a 3.54 GPA (15 student-athletes) and women's tennis rounded out the top four with a 3.50 GPA (12 student-athletes).

"Our student-athletes embody the true meaning of scholar-athletes. Their dedication to academic excellence, alongside their athletic pursuits, reflects the core values of Division III," said Athletic Director Erick Hart. "We are incredibly proud of their commitment to achieving success in the classroom, on the field, and in life beyond college."
