Brockport Announces Jason Story as Assistant Coordinator of Events & Equipment

SUNY Brockport Athletics is pleased to announce the hiring of Jason Story as Assistant Coordinator of Events & Equipment, effective August 1st. A familiar face within the department, Story steps into the full-time role after serving Brockport Athletics as a Graduate Assistant for Athletic Events & Operations and NCAA Compliance Intern during the 2025-26 academic year.

In his new position, Story will support event and facility operations as well as equipment management for the department's 24 varsity programs. His responsibilities will include assisting with game-day operations, event setup and breakdown, facility changeovers, student staff supervision, athletic facility scheduling, external rentals, summer camp coordination, and building management within the Tuttle Complex. He will also help oversee the daily operation of the equipment room, including laundry services, inventory management, equipment distribution, and student worker supervision.

Story recently completed his Master of Science in Athletic Administration at SUNY Brockport, earning a 4.0 GPA in May 2026. He previously earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Sport Management with a minor in Public Relations from Utica University in 2024.

During his time as a graduate assistant, Story coordinated game-day operations and event logistics for varsity athletic contests, external rentals, tournaments, and campus events across Brockport's NCAA Division III athletics program. He served as a primary point of contact for visiting teams, coaches, officials, and game personnel, while also helping recruit, train, and supervise student event staff and building managers. His experience also included supporting facility transition projects, updating operations materials, assisting with external event coordination, and helping maintain day-to-day operational readiness across the department.

Story also brings a decorated background as a collegiate student-athlete. At Utica University, he earned All-Empire 8 First Team and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region III Second Team honors in 2024, closing out a standout career with the Pioneers as one of the conference's top outfielders. He continued that success at SUNY Brockport in 2025, earning First Team All-Empire 8 recognition and ABCA/Rawlings All-New York Region Second Team honors as an outfielder.

In his final collegiate season, Story helped lead Brockport to a historic 2025 campaign that included the program's first Empire 8 Championship and an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament. His championship experience and perspective as a student-athlete now add another valuable dimension to the way he supports Golden Eagle programs in events, facilities, and equipment operations.

"Right when I first arrived at Brockport in 2024, it felt like home," Story said. "I am extremely grateful for my journey so far here where I have transitioned from a college athlete, to a graduate assistant, and now a full-time member of the athletics department staff. I am absolutely thrilled to continue serving our athletes and coaches and can't wait to contribute to furthering the excellence of Brockport Athletics. Go Golden Eagles!"
