BROCKPORT, NY- On Monday, November 3rd, the Empire 8 announced its selections for Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week. AJ Nelson was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week following another perfect week between the pipes for Brockport. The award marks Nelson's second weekly honor of the season.

Nelson totaled eight saves with two shutout wins on the week, allowing just one goal across his last six outings. In Brockport's regular-season finale against Geneseo, Nelson made five big stops to help secure the 1-0 victory on the road. In his first postseason appearance, Nelson shone in Brockport's 4-0 victory against Russell Sage, making three saves to preserve the shutout win. 

Holding a 9-0-2 record on the season, the Fairport, NY native has recorded seven shutouts, making 28 saves to just four goals allowed. Since making his season debut against Keuka on September 20th, the Golden Eagles have embarked on an 11-game unbeaten streak. 

The #2-seeded Golden Eagles will host #3-seeded Elmira College in the Empire 8 Tournament Semfinals on Wednesday, November 5th at 7 pm.
