Brockport, NY – The indoor track and field teams took a trip to Ithaca for the Ithaca Bomber Invitational where both the men's team and the women's team posted strong results.
Men's Team:
Starting out the meeting with a sixth-place finish in the mile was Sean Killip at a time of 4:20.77 with an AARFTC qualifying time.
In the 400m race, Ayden Grinion and Michael Durski finished just one place apart at third and fourth with Grinion coming in third at 50.48 seconds and Durski in fourth at 50.52 seconds.
Charlie Alekson made a strong performance in the men's 800m clinching a third-place finish at 1:56.70 also good for an AARFTC qualifying time.
The men's 4x400 team showed out with a first-place finish with an AARFTC qualifying time of 3:23.92 consisting of Michael Durski, Cole Ferris, Aaron Ottwnwalder and Ayden Grinion.
In the long jump, Gabe Giannini took fourth from a 6.54m leap and Dennis Bobbitt finished just two places later in sixth with a 6.45m jump.
Dennis Bobbitt also had a day in the triple jump with 13.55m jump good for a fourth-place finish.
In the men's high jump, Cardin Chau had a third place, four-way tie, finish clearing the pole at 1.82m.
Nathan Crane and Memphis Lohnes took second and fourth place in the pole vault with Crane finishing in second at 4.45m and Lohnes taking fourth at 4.30m.
Women's Team:
In the women's mile,
Mia Vizcaino finished strong in second place with an AARFTC qualifying time of 5:13.62.
Marissa Wise crossed the line in 59.90 seconds in the 400m sprint good for a fourth-place finish and an AARFTC qualifier.
Taking fifth place in the 800m race was
Julianne Wilson making her mark at 2:23.58.
The women's 4x400m relay team also had a strong performance taking first place at 4:03.50. The team consisted of Lexi Rodriguez,
Lily Rexford,
Monica Cammarota, and
Marissa Wise.
Katrina Chandler had a strong 15.65m throw in the women's weight throw which was good for a fifth-place finish.
Taking eighth in the women's triple jump was
Sasha Schramm with a 10.47m jump.
Next Weekend – The Golden Eagles are set to host the Brockport Multi Meet next weekend on Friday, February 7
th and Saturday February 8
th which will be held in the SERC.
