Brockport, N.Y. – The Brockport Women's Indoor Track and Field team placed three student-athletes on the Empire 8 All-Conference list following outstanding performances at the Empire 8 Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Sophomore Ethne Degan highlighted the season with First Team All-Conference honors in the mile after capturing the conference title with a time of 5:02.52. Degan, Brockport's top mid-distance runner, set two school records during the indoor campaign, including a banked-track mile time of 4:57.82 (5:01.86 converted) and an 800-meter mark of 2:16.38 at the AARTFC Regional Championships. She opened the season with a first-place finish in the 3000 meters at the Houghton December Classic and continued her success throughout the year with victories in the 1000 meters at the RIT Friday Meet, the mile at Ithaca College Track and Field, and the 800 meters at the Brockport Friday Night Meet.
Junior Sasha Schramm earned Third Team All-Conference honors in the long jump after placing third at the conference championships with a mark of 5.34 meters. Schramm turned in a consistent season as one of Brockport's top jumpers, recording long jump finishes of fifth at the Brockport Saturday Night Meet, fourth at the Ithaca Invitational, and third at the Ithaca Tri Meet. In the triple jump, she added a first-place finish at the Brockport Friday Night Meet, along with second-place honors at the Ithaca Invitational and fourth-place finishes at both the Brockport Saturday Night Meet and Ithaca Tri Meet.
Senior Trinity Dees delivered a dominant indoor season in the throwing events, earning All-Conference recognition with a third-place finish in the shot put at the Empire 8 Championships (12.68 meters). Dees also moved into sixth place on Brockport's all-time performance list with a throw of 12.90 meters at the Ithaca Tri Meet, where she placed second. Her season included a first-place finish at the Nazareth D3 Elite Meet, runner-up finishes at both the Brockport Saturday Night Meet and RIT Friday Meet, and third-place performances at the Brockport Friday Night Meet and Ithaca Invitational.
