Brockport, NY – On February 21
st, the SUNY Brockport gymnastics team will be hosting Utica University for a 6pm dual meet in the Tuttle North Gymnastics Center.
Last Time Out: On Sunday, February 16
th the SUNY Brockport gymnastics team defeated Ithaca College, 192.450-190.525, at the Harriet Marranca Memorial Invitational. The Golden Eagles are now 8-3 on the season.
Brockport's first rotation on the uneven bars brought about a 46.950 score for the event to start the meet.
Maren Eramo was the bars event winner with her 9.675 on the day. Teammate
Aladiana Tosado wasn't far behind with a 9.625 on the bars. The squad also received scores of 9.575 from
Emma Brookins and a 9.425 from
Lienna Kay.
The Golden Eagles stepped it up a notch going into the vault for rotation two. They scored a 48.350 to hold a 95.300-94.575 lead after the first two events.
Once again it was
Maren Eramo who led the effort on the vault, posting a 9.800 to win her second event of the meet.
Kiara Hockman contributed with a 9.775 for second place in the event.
Emma Langdon earned a 9.650,
Shannon Gibbs had a 9.575, and
Lienna Kay rounded out the scoring with a 9.550.
Rotation three put Brockport on its best event, the floor exercise. On the floor the Golden Eagles took the top two spots once again. They had
Kiara Hockman win the event with her 9.825 and
Emma Brookins had a 9.800.
Jamarie Saravia provided a big score with her routine, earning a 9.775.
Maya Pecoraro added a 9.675 and
Cali Czarcinski received a 9.650 on the floor. Brockport totaled 48.725 on the floor exercise, the team's top event score of the meet.
The Golden Eagles closed out the meet with a 48.425 on the balance beam to total 192.450 for the meet.
Kiara Hockman won her second event of the meet with her beam score of 9.800.
Lienna Kay posted a 9.725, placing third on the beam for the day. Brockport also got scores of 9.675 from
Emma Brookins, 9.625 from
Amelia York, and 9.600 from
Alexis Schulman.
In the Rankings: In the most recent Road To Nationals rankings, the Golden Eagles are ranked No. 3 in the nation overall with their average score of 191.175. Brockport ranks first on the floor, averaging 48.713 in the event. Brockport ranks third on the beam (48.029 avg), fifth on the vault (47.679 avg), and sixth on the bars (46.754 avg).
Individually Rankings: Maren Eramo is currently tied for first nationally on the vault (9.7563 SAS), while
Kiara Hockman ranks third (9.7500 SAS). Eramo is featured once again, tied third in the rankings on the bars (9.6813 SAS).
Kiara Hockman (9.8688 SAS) and
Emma Brookins (9.8313 SAS) are ranked first and second respectively on the floor. Brookins also sits at fifth in the nation in the all-around (37.7938 SAS).
Senior Day Up Next: Following Friday night's meet, the Golden Eagles will begin to prepare for Senior Day against Cornell University next weekend. The dual will begin at 7pm back at the Tuttle North Gymnastics Center.
