Brockport, NY - On Thursday, February 27
th, the Empire 8 conference announced its selections for the 2025 men's basketball individual awards and All-Conference teams, which were nominated and voted on by the conference coaches.
Coaching Staff of the Year: SUNY Brockport
Led by head coach
Joe Clarke, the staff of
Seth Johnston,
Shawn Harris, and
David Grady III earned Coaching Staff of the Year for Brockport. Jumping out to a 1-6 start, Brockport would finish the season 16-4, winning the Empire 8 Regular Season Championship with a 14-2 conference record.
First Team All-Conference:
Mekhi Beckett
Leading Brockport in scoring with 13 PPG,
Mekhi Beckett earned First-Team honors for his strong junior season. Beckett's 42.1% three-point percentage serves as the second-highest in the conference, with his 2.7 made threes per game good for fourth best in the E8.
Second Team All-Conference:
Zachary Rice
Serving as a three-point specialist for Brockport,
Zachary Rice netted Second Team All-Conference honors for the Golden Eagles. Averaging 11.4 PPG on 39% shooting from deep, Rice served as Brockport's top rebounder, snatching 5.9 rebounds per game.
Second Team All-Conference:
Tony Arnold
In his final season with Brockport,
Tony Arnold earns Second Team Empire 8 honors following a dynamic season for the Golden Eagles. Arnold filled out the box score for Brockport, averaging 10.4 PPG, 5.7 REB, 3.5 AST, and 2.4 steals per game. Arnold's 62 total steals led the Empire 8 conference.
Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year:
Colby Jordan
A defensive specialist for Brockport,
Colby Jordan was named Brockport's 2025 Sportsman of the Year for his dedication on and off the floor. Jordan finished the season with averages of 3.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game.
The Golden Eagles finished the 2024-25 season 17-10 overall and 14-2 in Empire 8 contests, winning the Empire 8 Regular Season Championship.
