Brockport, NY – The men's and women's indoor track and field teams hosted the Brockport Multi Meet where they had impressive results over the course of the weekend.
Multi Day 1:
In day 1 of the meet, the men's heptathlon posted strong results. Gabriel Giannini came in first with a total of 4135 points and Tyler Miller clinched a third-place finish with 3844 points.
In the 60m race, Giannini took first place at just 7.10 seconds. Tyler Miller took fourth at 7.35 seconds.
Tyler Miller clinched a third-place finish in the 1000m race crossing the line at 2:55.14.
In the long jump, Gabriel Giannini had another first place finish with a 6.98m leap with Hunter Zangerle taking fourth with a 6.37m jump.
Giannini took yet another first place spot in the pole vault clearing the pole at 4.45m with Tyler Miller taking second place with a 4.35m jump.
Finishing out the first day in the shotput was Tyler Miller taking third with a 10.48m throw.
Multi Day 2:
Men's Team:
Starting out the day in the men's 5000m race was Jared Smith crossing the line in second place at a time of 16:03.74.
Sean Killip also had a second-place finish in the mile making his mark at 4:22.19.
In the 400m race, Cole Ferris had a time of 51.06 seconds good for a second-place finish.
Jeremy Chen had a day in the 60m hurdles with a well-deserved first place finish at just 8.59 seconds.
Clinching a third-place finish with a time of 1:58.83 was Thomas Canestrari in the men's 800m.
Benjamin Betrus also finished in third in the 1000m at a mark of 2:40.96.
In the 3000m, Patrick Klinger earned first place after a strong race time of 8:51.42.
Cardin Chau and Dennis Bobbitt took third and fourth in the men's high jump with Chau in third with a 1.86m jump and Bobbitt taking fourth also with a 1.86m jump.
Dennis Bobbitt also had a day in the long jump taking second with a 6.97m jump.
Women's Team:
Mia Vizcaino,
Marissa Wise,
Ethne Degan, and
Julianne Wilson started out the day strong with a first-place finish in the distance medley relay with a time of 12:28.51 finishing second all time.
In the 400m race,
Alexis Rodriguez crossed the line in 59.60 seconds good for a third-place finish.
Alexis Rodriguez also had a day in the 60m sprint putting a mark on the board at just 8.15 seconds after crossing the line in first.
Marissa Wise took second in the 200m at a time of 26.01 seconds.
Taking second in the 600m race was
Vanessa Ramos at 1:44.02.
Trinity Dees and
Rebecca Heuler finished in second and fourth on the day in women's shotput with Dees in second with an 11.86m throw and Heuler in fourth with an 11.65m throw.
Michaela Levesque snagged a fourth-place finish in the high jump clearing the pole at 1.54m.
In the long jump,
Sasha Schramm made a 5.29m leap putting her on the board at fourth place.
Katrina Chandler finished out the day in the women's weight throw with a fourth-place finish from a 15.07m throw.
Next Weekend – The Golden Eagles prep for a busy weekend as they travel to Boston University for the David Hemery Invitational and Nazareth University for the DIII Elie Meet on Friday, February 14
th and Saturday, February 15
th.
