SUNY Brockport has announced six former student-athletes as the newest members of its Athletics Hall of Fame. The Golden Eagles will honor the Class of 2025 at the Alumni Awards & Athletics Hall of Fame Ceremony and Dinner on Friday, September 26, in the Seymour Union Ballroom as part of the University's Homecoming festivities. The ceremony begins at 6:30pm.Â

Class of 2025 Inductee Bios
Steve Abgarian '11 – Men's Soccer
In 2009, Steve Abgarian became Brockport's first men's soccer All-American since 1974 after leading the Golden Eagles to a 10-6-4 record. He paced the team with 12 goals and four assists for 28 points, including four game-winning goals. Abgarian led Brockport to a SUNYAC Tournament championship, defeating Plattsburgh in a penalty shootout, and into the second round of the NCAA Tournament. He also earned SUNYAC All-Conference First Team and United Soccer Coaches Association First Team All-Region honors.

Alyssa (Fitchette) Sidmore '11 – Volleyball
A dominant middle blocker during her career, Alyssa Sidmore was a two-time AVCA Division III All-American and a two-time AVCA First Team New York All-Region selection. In 2009, she led the team with 462 kills and 105 blocks, guiding the Golden Eagles to a 19-18 record, a second-place finish in the SUNYAC West Division, and a trip to the conference semifinals. That season, she was named SUNYAC West Division Player of the Year, while also earning All-Conference and All-Tournament recognition.

Colleen Hathaway '15 – Women's Lacrosse
Between 2012 and 2015, Colleen Hathaway appeared in 66 career games, recording 102 caused turnovers and helping Brockport to a 42-25 overall record. A four-time SUNYAC All-Conference honoree and two-time All-Region selection, Hathaway capped her career in 2015 by earning SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Year honors, Second Team All-America recognition, and leading the team to the SUNYAC semifinals. She was also selected to the SUNYAC All-Decade Team.

Chase Nieuwendyk '16 – Men's Hockey
The only two-time All-American in program history, Chase Nieuwendyk earned Second Team honors in 2016 and Third Team honors in 2015. A two-time SUNYAC All-Conference First Team selection and D3hockey.com All-Region honoree, Nieuwendyk ranks tied for eighth in career goals at Brockport (45) and also tallied 56 assists in 92 games. In his senior season, he became just the fifth player in program history to lead the team in goals, assists, and points in a single year, ranking seventh nationally in scoring at 1.42 points per game. He reached the 100-point milestone in his final collegiate weekend before playing three professional seasons in the SPHL and ECHL.

Nick Smith '16 – Men's Lacrosse
After transferring from Mercyhurst, Nick Smith made an immediate impact on Brockport's defense. A USILA All-American, two-time First Team All-SUNYAC selection, and inaugural DIII IMLCA First Team honoree, Smith also competed in the USILA North-South Senior All-Star Game. In 2016, he helped lead Brockport to its best record in program history (12-4) and its first home-field SUNYAC Tournament game, advancing to the championship. Known for shutting down opponents' top attackmen and contributing in all phases of the game, Smith earned a spot on the SUNYAC All-Decade Team (2010–2020).

Meghann Kilgallon '18 – Women's Swimming & Diving
A two-time All-American on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards at the NCAA Championships, Meghann Kilgallon broke two school records during her career. In 2017, she set the 1-meter record with a score of 476.9, and in 2018, she set the 3-meter mark with 483.5 points. That same year, she earned SUNYAC All-Conference First Team honors in both diving events.

Hall of Fame Purpose:
Begun in 1985, the Golden Eagle Athletic Hall of Fame was established to recognize athletes, coaches and/or administrators who have made outstanding contributions to the intercollegiate athletics program at Brockport. In 2009, a "contributors" category was added to honor individuals who have made a significant impact on the College's athletics program and/or the honoree's professional field after attending or working at Brockport.

Eligibility:
- Athletes who:
- Graduated five or more years ago from the College
- Attended Brockport and participated in athletics for at least two years
- Demonstrated superior athletic performance and contributed to the success of the athletics program while at the college
- Are worthy citizens and a positive role model
- "Veteran" Athletes only, who:
- Graduated at least 30 years before the current school year
- Can be judged on a combination of superior athletic performance, existing statistics, testimonials from coaches, players or opponents
- Are worthy citizens and a positive role model
- *Note: This category will be voted on separately, but honorees will be listed with "regular" inductees
- Coaches who:
- Demonstrated superior competence and professionalism in making contributions to the intercollegiate athletics program while at the college
- Strong consideration will be given to the following: won/lost record; length of service; strength of won/lost record; graduation rate of his/her athletes; post-season playoff appearances; conference/regional/national sport committee service; championships won; number of sports coached; and coach of the year awards
- Are worthy citizens and a positive role model
- Are not presently, and have not been in the past five years, on the athletic staff at the college
- A coach with at least 20 years of coaching experience at Brockport is automatically eligible, upon nomination as soon as he/she discontinues coaching in his/her primary sport.
- Administrators/Support personnel who:
- Demonstrated superior competence and professionalism in making contributions to the intercollegiate athletics program while at the college
- Must have performed an outstanding and/or special service to the athletics program
- Must have been employed at least 15 years at The College at Brockport
- Are worthy citizens and a positive role model
- Are not presently, and have not been in the past five years, on the athletic staff at the college;
- however, after 20 years of service at Brockport, individuals can become eligible, upon nomination as soon as they discontinue service to the College.
- Contributors who:
- Are worthy citizens and a positive role model
- Have significantly impacted the college's athletics program through on-going support: and/or
- Have attained a high-ranking role within their professional field that is recognized on a nation level: and/or
- Made a substantial impact on the world of athletics and sports in general
- *Note: this category will be voted on separately, but honorees will be listed with "regular" inductees)

Nominations:
Nominations will be accepted by The College at Brockport Athletic Department on an on-going basis. To be considered for the current year, a nomination must be submitted by no later than January 31 of the same year. Nominations will only be accepted through the online nomination portal. To be complete, a nomination should include a current resume of the nominee's achievements in athletics, their profession, and civic activities, and other supporting materials. Candidates nominated for induction remain eligible for five years. If a nominee is not selected within a period of five years, he/she is automatically removed from the list of active nominees and must be nominated again to be considered for induction into the Hall of Fame.
