The SUNY Brockport Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) brought energy, creativity, and purpose to campus on Tuesday, April 7, hosting its annual Lip Sync Battle inside the Jim & John Vlogianitis Gymnasium. The event, held as part of NCAA Division III Week, united student-athletes from nearly all varsity programs for an evening of entertainment and impact.

Approximately 150–200 student-athletes filled the gym to cheer on six teams that took the stage with themed lip sync and dance performances. The spirited competition not only showcased the personalities and camaraderie of Brockport's student-athletes, but also supported a meaningful cause—raising approximately $500 for Morgan's Message, an organization dedicated to eliminating the stigma surrounding mental health in athletics.

Assistant women's basketball coach Dyamon Hunter, Faculty Athletics Representative Eric Sandler, and athletic trainer Zach Dumbar served as judges, evaluating each performance on creativity, execution, and overall entertainment value.

The Lip Sync Battle highlighted the strength of Brockport's SAAC program, which provides student-athletes with a platform to express their voices, build leadership skills, and make a positive impact both on campus and in the community. Events like this reinforce the department's commitment to the holistic student-athlete experience—one that extends beyond competition to include personal development, community engagement, and mental health awareness.

As part of NCAA Division III Week, the event emphasized the core values of Division III athletics—featuring student-athletes who excel not only in their sport, but also in the classroom and as leaders within their campus community.

Through creativity, collaboration, and a shared commitment to giving back, Brockport student-athletes once again demonstrated what it means to be a Golden Eagle.
