Brockport, NY - On Tuesday, the Empire 8 announced that the doubles team of Olivia Raschiatore and Cara Vasile was selected as the Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week.

With a dominant performance on the court, the duo swept past Fredonia for a swift 6-1 win on Saturday. In a key match, Vasile also clinched a three-set singles victory (2-6, 7-5, 10-3) to secure the overall win for the Golden Eagles. Raschiatore previously earned Second Team All-Conference Doubles honors in 2023. 

The win snapped the Golden Eagles' two-match losing streak against the Blue Devils, and they have won five of the last seven head-to-head matchups against Fredonia. 

The Golden Eagles start the season 1-0 and will face off with Oswego State on the road on Friday, September 5th, with the time still to be determined.
