Brockport, NY – On Saturday, the Golden Eagles gymnastics team is headed out of state to compete at the Golden Girls Classic. Hosted by Eastern Michigan University, Brockport will face both Eastern and Northern Illinois University out in Ypsilanti, MI for a 4pm start to the event.

Kiki's Weekly Award: Brockport's
Kiara Hockman had a fantastic showing in last weekend's home opener. She was recognized as the NCGA East Specialist Gymnast of the Week. She scored a 9.800 in two different events, tying for first place on both the balance beam and the floor exercise. Kiara also added a 9.775 on the vault for Brockport, which was good for second in the event.
Early NCGA Rankings: Brockport's average of 190.150 as a team through two meets, has the squad ranked fourth in the NCGA early on this season. With a 47.388 average on the balance beam, Brockport ranks second in the nation. The ladies have also earned the ranking of fourth on the floor (48.150 avg), fourth on the bars (47.063 avg), and tied for sixth on the vault (47.550 avg).
In the individual rankings so far, Brockport's
Kiara Hockman holds several spots in the event rankings. She ranks third on the vault (9.762 avg), fifth on the balance beam (9.738 avg), and sixth on the floor (9.787 avg).
Brockport vs Ithaca Recap: In the first home meet of the season, Brockport outperformed Ithaca College for a dual victory, 191.200-187.600. The vault lineup of

Gracie Weaver combined for a 47.525 in the opening rotation. On the bars,
Emma Brookins led the way as the event winner with a 9.750. She was joined in the lineup by

Alexis Schulman,
Celina Satter, and
Jamarie Saravia to total 47.325 on the bars.
In the third rotation, Brockport's 48.275 on the balance beam was the team's best event score of the meet. Both
Kiara Hockman and
Amelia York scored a 9.800 to tie for first place on the event.
Alyssa Strain,
Lienna Kay, and
Cali Czarcinski contributed to the big score as well. To close out the victory, the Golden Eagles earned a 48.075 on the floor exercise. The efforts from

Cornell Quad Up Next: Following the trip to Michigan the Golden Eagles will get ready for another meet away from home next weekend. On Sunday, January 25
th, Brockport heads to Ithaca, NY to compete at the Cornell University Quad Meet to face Cornell, West Chester, and Bowling Green.
