Ypsilanti, MI - The Brockport gymnastics team fought hard at the Golden Girls Classic against Eastern Michigan University and Northern Illinois University. The Golden Eagles placed behind the two Division 1 programs with their final team score of 191.100.

Brockport's top event of the day was the balance beam once again, putting up a 48.675. A fantastic routine from Kiara Hockman earned first place in the event. She posted a season-best score of 9.875 on the beam.
Freshman Alyssa Strain hit a season-high on the beam as well with a 9.750. Lienna Kay added a 9.725 for Brockport to go with Alexis Schulman's 9.700 and Amelia York's 9.625.
The floor exercise squad looked great as well, racking up a 48.575. Kiara Hockman shined once again for the Golden Eagles, hitting a 9.800 to tie for first place in the event.
Jamarie Saravia's performance was good for a 9.750. Brockport added a 9.725 from Claire Wood, a 9.675 from Emma Brookins, and Cali Czarcinski's 9.625.

In another strong effort from the Green and Gold, the team scored a 48.150 on the vault. With a 9.825, Kiara Hockman placed first for a third event at the meet with another season-best.
Both Shannon Gibbs and Emma Langdon scored a 9.650 for the squad. Calissa Nisson added a 9.525 with her run. Jamarie Saravia rounded out the scoring with A 9.500.
The Golden Eagles would score 45.700 from the uneven bars. They were led by Emma Brookins, who earned a 9.650. Jamarie Saravia contributed a 9.550 and Alexis Schulman added a 9.400.
Following the trip to Michigan the Golden Eagles will get ready for another meet away from home next weekend. On Sunday, January 25th, Brockport heads to Ithaca, NY to compete at the Cornell University Quad Meet to face Cornell, West Chester, and Bowling Green.
