Last Week Recap

Brockport went 1-1 over its previous week of competition, moving its overall record to 10-3 and holding a 4-2 mark in Empire 8 play.

The Golden Eagles opened the week in dominant fashion on Wednesday afternoon, blanking Keuka College 3-0 at home to secure their 15th consecutive victory over the Wolves. Emily Nestor got Brockport on the board in the opening quarter before a second-period flurry saw Penelope Schalck and Laela Osinski score just over a minute apart to command a 3-0 halftime cushion. The defensive unit locked down the field, yielding only two total shots as freshman goalkeeper Julia Nieboer earned her first complete-game shutout of the season.

Hit with a road test on Saturday, the Green and Gold ran into a tough battle at Utica University, ultimately dropping a hard-fought 3-2 decision. After the Pioneers staked an early 2-0 lead, Alexis Penree answered late in the second quarter with her sixth goal of the season. Following a third-quarter goal from Utica, Brockport continued to press in the final frame, pulling within one when Terralyn McLaughlin converted a setup from Sophia Jones at the 51:42 mark. Nieboer stood tall under heavy pressure in the cage, turning away a career-high 13 saves, but Utica held on to secure the senior day victory.
