BROCKPORT, NY - On Tuesday, February 10th, D3Hoops.com released its Weekly Honor Roll, recognizing the top performances across the country from the previous week.
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week following a historic week of action for the Green and Gold. Jean-Baptiste is the first Empire 8 athlete to be named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week.
Taking over the contest with a historic effort in Brockport's 91-84 win over St. John Fisher, SJB displayed excellent efficiency on tremendous volume. Jean-Baptiste would set a new program record for points in a single game, breaking Lisa Diaz's 45-year-old scoring record with 41 points, adding eight rebounds and five steals in one of the best performances in Brockport Basketball history. She would finish the contest shooting 15-19 from the floor (78.8%), a perfect 9-9 from the free throw line, and 50% from beyond the arc (2-4).
On the week, Jean-Baptiste stuffed the stat sheet to the tune of 24.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.6 steals per game, earning her fourth Empire 8 weekly accolade of the season. She currently holds Empire 8 top-ten marks in field goal percentage (45.1%, 6th), free throw percentage (79.8%, 6th), and steals per game (2.2, T-6). SJB's 19.1 points per game lead all scorers in the Empire 8 conference.
The Golden Eagles (15-7, 11-2 E8) will welcome SUNY Poly for National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Friday, February 9th, at 5:30 PM.
