Hockey Hosts Albertus Magnus for Willie Bee Foundation Jersey Night

BROCKPORT, NY - The Brockport Ice Hockey team (9-10, 5-4-1 UCHC) will host Albertus Magnus (11-8, 5-7) for Willie Bee Foundation Jersey Night on Friday, February 6th at 7 PM. The Golden Eagles will take on the Falcons on Saturday at 4 PM to complete the UCHC set.

Willie Bee Foundation: The Willie Bee Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization founded in August of 2017 to benefit local families who have a child facing a life-threatening illness. The Willie Bee Foundation was founded in memory of Will, who lost his life after a courageous battle with AT/RT, an aggressive brain tumor just a few weeks shy of his second birthday. The game worn jerseys will be available for purchase, and bidding on all uniforms will start at $50 with proceeds to benefit The Willie Bee Foundation. Bidding should be done in a minimum $5 increments. You can place a bid by emailing Head Coach Brian Dickinson at bdickins@brockport.edu with your name and current jersey bid.

Last Outing: The Golden Eagles celebrated Senior Night with a 5-2 non-conference win over Fredonia on Saturday, January 31st. Brockport has posted a perfect 6-0 record against Fredonia dating back to the 2023-24 season.

Kyle Kussmann turned in a masterclass performance, figuring into three of the team's five goals. Kussmann finished the night with one goal and two assists, including the primary apple on the third-period insurance marker.

Aidan Taylor was a force in the offensive zone, recording one goal and one assist. His unassisted tally in the first period provided the immediate spark the Golden Eagles needed after Fredonia's quick start.

Jacob Gates provided stability on the blue line and joined the rush effectively, finishing with a goal and an assist. His third-period strike served as the dagger that effectively ended Fredonia's comeback hopes.

Brody Seitz proved to be the clutch performer of the afternoon, netting the game-winning goal at the end of the second period. Seitz finished with four shots on goal and was a constant nuisance for the Blue Devil defense.

Player of the Week: The Empire 8 and UCHC conference's named Matthew Lee as the Ice Hockey Co-Athlete of the Week. Lee provided a pair of three point performances on the week to power Brockport to a season sweep of Fredonia. In the Golden Eagles 6-1 win at Fredonia last Tuesday, Lee provided his best playmaking outing of the season, finishing with three assists in a incredible passing showcase. Lee would do much of the same in Brockport's 5-2 Senior Day win over Fredonia. Lee would post a goal and two assists in the win, producing back-to-back three point outings for the Green and Gold. Playing in all 19 games for Brockport, Lee holds season totals of five goals and eight assists for a team second best 13 points on the year. The freshman from Ontario has stepped up following the winter break, racking up 10 points in seven games following the new year (4G, 6A).

Scouting Albertus Magnus: The Falcons are coming off a weekend split against Manhattanville, winning 6-4 at home before dropping last Saturday's contest, 1-0. Brockport and Albertus Magnus have met just once, with Brockport cruising to a 4-0 win back in 2020.

Up Next: Brockport will host Nazareth for Brockport's Face Off Against Cancer game on Friday, February 13th at 7 PM.
