Men's Indoor T&F Takes Second at Ithaca Tri-Meet

Brockport, NY – The men's and women's indoor track and field teams took the trip back out to Ithaca for the Ithaca College Tri Meet. The men's team finished the day in second place with 93 points, and the women took third with 79 points. 

Men's Team Recap:

Bryce Roberts earned points for the Golden Eagles in the 60m, taking fifth with a quick 7.23 seconds. Alex Peske finished milliseconds later in sixth at 7.26 seconds. 

In the mile, Howie Vargas had a strong finish to take first, crossing the line at 4:26.92. Patrick Allen also earned points for Brockport with an eighth place finish at 4:44.09. 

Clinching third in the 400m was Cole Ferris, crossing the line at 52.10 seconds. 

In the 200m, Ayden Grinion, Bryce Roberts, and Judson Delany took fourth, fifth and sixth just milliseconds apart. Grinion finished in 23.03 seconds, Roberts at 23.09, and Delany at 23.13. 

Brockport showed out in the 800m with Thomas Canestrari finishing in third place at 1:59.51, Tyler Grossman in fourth at 2:01.33, Eduardo Salinas in fifth at 2:01.59, Cassidy Gilmore in sixth at 2:01.65, and Hunter Shanahan in seventh at 2:02.57. 

Aidan Mayer dominated in the 3000m race, earning himself a first place spot on the board from a time of 8:55.59. Benjamin Betrus finished shortly after in third at 9:16.53. 

The 4x400 team consisting of Jeremy Chen, Cole Ferris, Nick Puma, and Ayden Grinion fought hard for silver with a mark of 3:27.28. 

Mitchell Ellsworth finished strong in the weight throw with a 15.76m throw good for second place. Hunter Richards earned himself fourth from a 15.01m throw, and Duncan Harbin took fifth at 14.65m. 

In the shotput, Mitchell Ellsworth had another top three spot, taking third from a 13.92m throw, and Allen Reome finished a spot later in fourth at 13.83m. 

Daniel Reinhart clinched a third place spot on the board, clearing the pole at 4.46m. Alan Gray and Mason Wandtke finished the day in a tie for seventh, at 3.71. 

In the high jump, Grant Gahagen cleared the bar in 1.78m to earn himself silver, and Jake Galley earned fourth also at 1.78m. 

Dennis Bobbitt made strong efforts in the long jump, earning himself a first place finish from a 7.02m jump. 

In the triple jump, Dennis Bobbitt took first yet again from a 14.73m leap. Cameron Rynders also had a day to take fifth at 12.53m. 

Women's Team Recap: 

In the 60m sprint, Alexis Rodriguez ran for a fast 8.41 seconds to take eighth place and earn points for the Green and Gold. 

Vanessa Ramos fought for an eighth place spot in the mile, finishing at a time of 5:36.19. Madison Kirkpatrick crossed the line just three seconds later at 5:39.54 to earn eighth place. 

In the 60m hurdles, Lily Rexford clinched a third place spot, earning a strong four points for Brockport from a time of 9.73 seconds. 

Taking eighth in the 400m race was Monica Cammarota at a dominating time of 1:02.43. 

Taylor Nugent earned second place after a 2:26.53 time in the 800m, and Salvatrice Piccolo took fifth at 2:27.54. 

The Green and Gold swept the board in the 3000, with Abigail Polus taking second at 11:20.81, Keziah Angeleri finishing in third at 11:56.65, and Ally DePerno taking fourth at 12:01.62. 

Trinity Dees dominated in the weight throw, clinching a third place spot from a 14.87m throw. Bella Rivera threw for 14.80m good for fourth, and Rhian Crowley threw for 14.50m good for fifth. 

In the shotput, Trinity Dees had another top finish, taking second and sixth all time in Brockport with a 12.90m throw. Bella Rivera finished shortly behind yet again in fourth from an 11/58m throw. 

Isabel Swyers earned herself sixth place in the pole vault, clearing the pole at 3.18m. 

Taking fourth in the high jump from clearing the bar at 1.49m was Abby Zeh. 

In the long jump, Sasha Schramm earned a bronze spot from a 5.14m jump. 

Abby Zeh finished the day hot in the triple jump, soaring past the competition for first place from a 10.76m jump. Sasha Schramm also showed out for fourth place from a 10.50m jump. 

The Golden Eagles are set to hit the road next weekend to Boston, MA for the Boston University Valentine Invite on Friday, February 13th, and Saturday, February 14th
