Brockport, NY - The No. 2-seeded Brockport flag football team will host No. 4-seeded Elmira in the inaugural Empire 8 Women's Flag Football Championship on Friday, April 24, at 6 p.m. at Bob Boozer Field. Following a dominant semifinal victory over Hartwick and Elmira's comeback win at SUNY Geneseo, the stage is set for the conference title game.

Semifinal Recap:
The Golden Eagles advanced with an emphatic 47–18 victory over No. 3-seeded Hartwick in the Empire 8 Semifinals on Tuesday, April 21.
Quarterback Megan Gerber led the way with an outstanding all-around performance, completing 16 passes for 207 yards and four touchdowns. She also made a significant impact on the ground, rushing for 168 yards and a touchdown. The senior has accounted for 27 total touchdowns and 1,887 yards of total offense in nine conference games this season.
Trelani Harper emerged as Gerber's top target, recording career highs with eight receptions for 123 yards and two touchdowns to lead all Brockport receivers. The sophomore also posted a long reception of 34 yards and extended her streak of games with at least three catches. Harper has totaled 33 receptions for 432 yards and seven touchdowns in conference play.
Addy VanDewater delivered a season-best effort, contributing on both sides of the ball with three total touchdowns. The freshman wide receiver finished with six receptions for 80 yards and two touchdowns, while adding a 31-yard interception return for a score on defense. She also recorded eight tackles, including two for loss. VanDewater enters the championship leading the team with 36 receptions, 587 receiving yards, and 14 receiving touchdowns.
Lauren Cundra contributed in all phases, totaling three receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown, along with four flag pulls and an interception on defense. She leads the team with six interceptions and 13 pass breakups this season.
Defensively, Ariana Kennedy and Cymbri Jefferson pace the Golden Eagles with 57 flag pulls each in conference play. Jefferson recorded a team-high nine flag pulls in the semifinal victory, while Kennedy added five.
Championship Information:
Brockport students receive free admission to Friday's championship game. General admission is $10, with $2 tickets available for non-SUNY students and seniors. Promotions include "Tee's for TD's" and a Mark's Pizzeria Halftime Quarterback Competition, with opportunities to win a free t-shirt and pizza courtesy of Mark's Pizzeria in Brockport.
Scouting Elmira:
Elmira enters the championship following a 34–26 comeback victory over top-seeded SUNY Geneseo, overcoming a 20-point halftime deficit in the semifinals. Brockport looks to complete a season sweep of the Soaring Eagles after earning 31–6 and 38–12 victories in the regular season.
