Brockport, N.Y. – On Monday, April 6, the Empire 8 Conference announced Matthew Coon and Tyler Pohlman as the Empire 8 Co-Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week, respectively. During a 4–0 week in which Brockport outscored its opponents 65–23, Coon and Pohlman played key roles in extending the team's winning streak to nine games.

Amid a 13-game hitting streak, Matthew Coon earned his first weekly accolade following an exceptional performance at the plate. Starting all four games, Coon went 9-for-17 (.529 batting average) with three home runs (six extra-base hits), 11 runs scored, and eight RBIs. His top performance came in Brockport's 19–13 victory over Elmira on Friday, when he recorded three hits, including two home runs, and five RBIs. Currently riding a 19-game on-base streak, Coon leads the Golden Eagles in OPS (1.130), slugging percentage (.667), and home runs (5—tied).

Tyler Pohlman continued his strong run of starts, earning Empire 8 Pitcher of the Week honors after a dominant outing against Elmira on Saturday. Starting game one of the doubleheader, Pohlman delivered his best performance of the season, striking out seven Soaring Eagles over six innings while not allowing an earned run. The junior from Orchard Park, N.Y., has found his rhythm on the mound, allowing just four earned runs across his last three starts (1.86 ERA) while recording 15 strikeouts.

The Brockport Baseball team holds an 11–13 overall record and remains undefeated at 7–0 in Empire 8 play. The Golden Eagles will travel to St. John Fisher for a conference matchup on Wednesday, April 8, at 3 p.m.
