Brockport, NY - The Brockport Cross Country teams head to Genesee Valley Park for the Yellowjacket Invitational hosted by the University of Rochester on Saturday, September 18th. The women's 6k is scheduled for 10 am, with the men's 8k scheduled for 11 am.

The Golden Eagles opened the season with a strong showing at the Tom Balon Alumni Classic on September 5th, with the women's team claiming first place with 46 points and the men's team finishing third with 67 points. Brockport's men's alumni team took first place on the men's side.
Jace Stuart made an impressive debut in his first race with the Golden Eagles, securing a fourth-place finish with a time of 16:03.
Senior Tim Smith followed closely behind, placing seventh overall in 16:20.9. Smith finished less than 18 seconds behind Stuart, giving Brockport two runners among the top seven finishers.
Junior Brady Ruediger continued Brockport's strong presence at the front of the field, crossing the finish line 13th overall in 16:36.2. Sophomore Sam Faga rounded out the Golden Eagles' first four finishers, placing 17th with a time of 16:43.4.
On the women's side, junior Ethne Degan led the way for Brockport, finishing second overall in 19:47.2. Degan finished just 49.7 seconds behind the individual winner and established herself among the top runners in the field.
Sophomore Salma Moumen continued the Golden Eagles' strong performance, placing 13th overall with a time of 20:54.0. Freshman Grace Kosmoski rounded out Brockport's first five finishers, taking 15th in 20:56.7.
Yellowjacket Invite:
Brockport will compete at the Yellowjacket Invitational for the third consecutive season, with the meet bringing together top talent from across New York State. The Golden Eagles will face Alfred State, Buffalo State, Colgate, Cortland, Fredonia, Hobart, Ithaca, Le Moyne, Oberlin, Oneonta, RIT, Rochester, SUNY Delhi, SUNY Geneseo, and St. John Fisher.
Freshman to Watch:
A group of Golden Eagle freshmen made an immediate impact in the season opener and will look to carry that momentum into Genesee Valley Park.
On the women's side, Jaelyn Jordan delivered a strong collegiate debut, finishing seventh overall in 20:44.7 as Brockport's number two finisher. Reese Roberts followed closely behind Jordan, crossing the finish line less than three seconds later to earn ninth place in 20:47 as the Golden Eagles' number three runner.
For the men's team, Oliver Fernaays cracked Brockport's top seven, finishing 36th overall with a time of 17:18.9.
