Senior Sarah Lawson (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca East) put in a team-high six points in two games this week and has been named The College at Brockport Female Athlete of the Week. Lawson and the women’s soccer team stayed unbeaten to start the year at 5-0-1.
Lawson contributed one assist in a 4-0 win over Medaille College on Wednesday. On Saturday against SUNY ESF, Lawson had her best game of the season, points wise, as the senior scored a goal and added three assists, her third career three assist game.
Lawson assisted on the first goal of the game before putting Brockport up 2-0 with her third goal of the season. After another Brockport goal, Lawson helped put the Golden Eagles up 5-0 with back-to-back assists. All five of Lawson’s points came in the first half.
The Golden Eagles are off to their best start since the 2007 season when the Golden Eagles opened up the season 8-0. Brockport begins its conference schedule next weekend as the Golden Eagles take on Buffalo State on Friday and Fredonia on Saturday.
