After scoring three major decisions at the Virginia Duals, Jordan Dyer (Chenango Forks, NY/Chenango Forks) has been named The College at Brockport Male Athlete of the Week. The Golden Eagles finished second overall in the American College Division.

In the team’s first round matchup against Central Florida, Dyer scored a 10-0 major decision over Michael Fleming to give Brockport three points and an early 12-0 lead. Brockport went on to defeat the Knights 39-10.

Dyer and the Golden Eagles returned the next day to take on Nassau Community College. Dyer posted another major decision, defeating Hector Paez 10-2 as the Golden Eagles advanced to the championship round with a 25-9 victory.

In the championship round against Steven’s Institute, Brockport fell behind 9-0 after the first two matches but Dyer put the Golden Eagles right back into contention with a 10-2 major decision over Mike Kalimitzis. Brockport dropped the next three matches and fell to the Ducks 22-18 to finish second overall.

Next up for the Golden Eagles will be the New York State Championship Tournament hosted by Cortland on Jan. 19 at 10:00 pm.
