Senior Nicole Jones (West Charlton, NY/Galway) of the women’s track and field team has been named The College at Brockport Female Athlete of the Week after taking home two first place finishes at the Redhawk Open hosted by Roberts Wesleyan College.

Jones, a nine-time Brockport Female Athlete of the Week, took first place in both the shot put and the hammer throw events at Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon. The senior posted a season-best mark of 13.04 meters (42’ 8”) in the shot put, winning by almost two full meters.

In the hammer throw, Jones won the event with a distance of 44.17 meters (144’ 9”).

The senior currently ranks 21st in Division III in the shot put event and 29th nationally in the hammer throw.
