Junior quarterback Chase Venuto (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) has been named The College at Brockport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 13. Venuto led football to its first win in the Empire 8 Conference with a 46-0 victory over Frostburg State Saturday afternoon.

In the second start of his career, Venuto completed 15 of 24 passes for 254 yards and three touchdowns.

In the first quarter, Venuto drove the Golden Eagles down the field before capping the 13-play drive with a six-yard touchdown pass, giving Brockport the 7-0 lead. On a fourth-and-10 play in the second quarter, Venuto connected with a different receiver for a 30-yard touchdown pass.

Venuto led Brockport to a 28-0 halftime lead when he threw a 56-yard touchdown pass. The reception was a Golden Eagle record tying 20th touchdown catch by senior Andrew Mrozek (Depew, NY/Lancaster).
