Zachary Brown (Brewerton, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) has been named The College at Brockport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending May 11. Brown improved on his time in the 400-meter dash during the Albany Purple & Gold Last Chance Meet with a qualifying time for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship.

Brown had already qualified for the ECACs when he won the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championship in the 400-meter dash, but was a split second faster in Albany with a time of 48.76 seconds earning a first place finish.

Brown currently ranks fifth in the 400-meter dash for the Atlantic Region and also teams with Cameron Shaughnessy (Cicero, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse), Dorian Hayden (East Northport, NY/Northport) and Samuel Taft (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady Christian) to rank seventh nationally in the 4x100-meter relay.

The Golden Eagles travel to compete in the ECAC Championships at Springfield, MA for the two-day meet on Thursday and Friday. Events begin at 1 pm on Thursday and 10 am on Friday.
