Hamed Shamseldin was named The College at Brockport Athlete of the Week for the week ending Dec. 7 after earning a spot on the Wendy’s Classic All-Classic second team.

He led the Golden Eagles to a 2-1 record on the week. In a narrow miss against the University of Rochester on Wednesday, Shamseldin netted 20 points, grabbed five rebounds and snagged two steals. In a bounce back win over No. 10 St. John Fisher College on Friday, Shamseldin continued his solid play, posting 15 points to go with four rebounds, two steals and an assist. In the final game of the Wendy’s Classic, the Golden Eagles bypassed Hobart College, again led by Shamseldin. The sophomore scored a game-high 22 points, pulled down five rebounds, dished out three assist and kept pace with two steals. 

On the week, Shamseldin averaged 19 points, 4.6 rebounds, two steals and 1.6 assists per game.  The Lawrence, N.Y. native shot 36.5 percent (19-52) from the field, 35.2 percent (6-17) from downtown and 81.2 percent (13-16) from the charity stripe.
