Senior Mike Goldstein (Slingerlands, NY/ Guilderland) was 2-for-4 and The College at Brockport Baseball team scored twice in the seventh inning but it was not enough as Fredonia scored a 5-2 victory Thursday in the final game of a three-game State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) series in Fredonia.
The game was moved to Wednesday afternoon but had to be rescheduled again to Thursday due to poor field conditions in Fredonia.
In the seventh with the Golden Eagles (17-8 Overall, 6-5 SUNYAC) trailing 4-0, Stephen Boronczyk (Syracuse, NY/Corcoran) started the rally with a one-out single and Mike DeGregory (Saratoga Springs, NY/Schuylerville) followed with another single and then both runners moved up a base on a wild pitch. Senior Tom McCormick (Utica, NY/Utica Notre Dame) connected on a base hit to left field scoring both runners to put Brockport on the board.
Fredonia (12-12, 1-8) scored four times in the first three innings to post an early lead and then added one additional run in the eighth inning for the final score.
