Alexandra Marshall (Manorville, NY/Eastport-South Manor) recorded her first double-double as a member of The College at Brockport Women's Basketball team, leading the Golden Eagles to a 58-45 victory over Morrisville on Tuesday night. With the win, Brockport snapped a two-game losing streak and is now 2-2 overall.

After falling behind 2-0 to start the game, Brockport came back and controlled a lead for 15 minutes of the half.  The Golden Eagles built their largest lead of the first half to six at the 8:47 mark after Fortney hit two of her four first half free throws. The freshman went 7-8 from the line for the game.

Morrisville tied the game up at 21 but Brockport regained the lead on a layup from Marshall with 3:04 to play. The Golden Eagles never relingquished the lead, but both teams found themselves in a tie on three separate occasions in the final 2:45, including a 27-27 draw at halftime.

The Golden Eagles came out of the locker room firing in the second half as Brockport went on a 13-0 run to open the half. Fortney contributed the first six points of the run while Sigrist chipped in four points of her own. Brockport maintained a double-digit lead midway through the second half. The Golden Eagles success came from an improved shooting effort, putting home 11 of 27 shots in the final 20 minutes.

Leading by eight with 2:27 to play, Sigrist sank three free throws and converted a layup in a span off 44 seconds to seal the victory for the Golden Eagles.
Brockport outshot Morrisville from the free throw line, hitting 20 of 27 while the Mustangs went 14-19. The Golden Eagles also outrebounded their counterparts by a 46-39 advantage and caused 21 Mustang turnovers on the night.
