The College at Brockport Men's Baseball team dropped a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game to the Oswego State Lakers 5-1 on Friday afternoon.
Kyle Tracy (Plainview, NY/Bethpage) was the lone Golden Eagle to have a multi-hit game and
Pete Wilson (Rochester, NY/West Irondequoit) scored the lone run. Brockport falls to 13-9 overall and 2-4 in the SUNYAC.
Aaron Tilley (Troy, NY/Troy) went six and one-third innings on the mound and gave up five runs, zero of which were earned. The senior southpaw scattered eight hits and struck out two batters on the day.
James Williamson (Mexico, NY/Mexico) relieved Tilley with one out in the sixth and finished off the game allowing just one hit and striking out three.
Through the first four innings, Brockport managed just two hits, but Tilley kept the Lakers off the scoreboard allowing just four hits through the first four frames. The Golden Eagles took the game's first lead in the top of the fifth after Wilson crossed the plate. Wilson singled to start off the inning and advanced to third on back-to-back singles by Tracy and
Stephen Boronczyk (Syracuse, NY/Corcoran).
Jamie Boronczyk (Syracuse, NY/Corcoran) then hit into a double play but Wilson was able to score. A groundout left Tracy stranded on third.
The Lakers got on the board with two unearned runs in the bottom half of the fifth and three more in the bottom of the seventh. All five runs were a result of two errors, one in each inning. Tracy was the only Golden Eagle to receive a hit over the final four innings, a seventh inning single. As a team, Brockport finished with six hits.
Brockport and Oswego resume their series tomorrow afternoon with a doubleheader set to begin at 12:00 pm.
