Junior Stephanie Schuler (Purcellville, VA/Hickory) recorded a career-best score with a 9.625 vault and sophomore Lily Jagodzinski (Tonawanda, NY/Williamsville North) had her career-best score on floor with a 9.65 as The College at Brockport Gymnastics team reached a season-best with a team score of 186.550 as the Golden Eagles took third at the four-team NCAA Division I meet Sunday at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
The University of Bridgeport won the meet with a 192.450 and Brown was second with a 191.950. Brockport was third and Rhode Island College was fourth with a 175.075 team score.
Brockport (3-2) had three scores 9.6 or better on floor with Jagodzinski's 9.65, Amanda Carney (Walpole, MA/Walpole) scored a 9.6 and senior Lexi King (Glendale, AZ/Mountain Ridge) led the Golden Eagles with a 9.7.
The Golden Eagles were also impressive in vaulting with four scores of at least 9.525. Schuler led the way with her career-best 9.625 while Olivia Sylvestro (Palm City, FL/Martin County) added a 9.6, Carney scored a 9.575 and junior Haylee Garrick (Myrtle Beach, SC/Carolina Forest) had a 9.525.
Senior Casey Addis (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) and freshman Casey Sullivan (Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) each recorded season-best scores on the uneven bars. Addis had a team-best 9.475 and Sullivan chipped in a 9.3. Schuler had a 9.45 on bars.
Jagodzinski recorded a 9.45 and freshman Jennifer Sklenar (Canfield, OH/Cardinal Mooney) had a 9.425 to lead Brockport on the balance beam.
Brockport opens the 2014 home schedule Saturday with a 1 pm meet against Ithaca.
