Box Score
Freshman Hannah Rehbaum (Cheektowaga, NY/Sacred Heart) finished the season the same way she started it by scoring a season-best 20 points as The College at Brockport Women's Basketball team dropped a 77-62 decision Saturday to Oneonta in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game on the final day of the regular season in the Jim and John Vlogianitis Gymnasium in Brockport.
Brockport (9-16 Overall, 5-13 SUNYAC) fought back from an early first half deficit and overcame a second-half double-digit deficit but a 13-1 run midway through the half was too much for the Golden Eagles to overcome.
After Brockport fell behind early in the game, Rehbaum sparked a 9-0 run with one of her five 3-point baskets and after the run, Brockport had tied the game at 15-15 with 11:09 to play in the opening half.
At 6:08, the Golden Eagle trailed by a point at 23-22 after a pair of free throws by Faith Welch (Albany, NY/Catholic Central) before another Oneonta (18-7, 12-6) run made it 32-22 with 2:32 left before the intermission.
In the second half, Brockport chipped away at the Red Dragon lead and trailed by five points at 46-41 after another 3-pointer by Rehbaum and a layup by Anna Feller (Voorheesville, NY/Voorheesville).
Oneonta scored the next 12 points to regain the double-digit lead.
Rehbaum hit another 3-pointer late in the game to trim the lead to 10 points with 3:42 left but the Golden Eagles could not get any closer for the remainder of the game.
Rehbaum led the way with her 20 points which tied her previous season high set on her first game of the year against Nazareth.
Seniors Alexandra Marshall (Manorville, NY/Eastport-South Manor) scored seven points and fellow seniors Hannalee Fordyce (Amityville, NY/Copiaque) and Kaitlin Hammersley (Weedsport, NY/Weedsport) each added eight points. Marshall, Fordyce and Hammersley were honored with senior Stephanie Burke (Central Valley, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) prior to the start of the game.
