Senior Kyle Tracy (Plainview, NY/Bethpage) tripled down the left field line scoring two runners and giving The College at Brockport Baseball team a commanding 4-1 lead in the top of the 12th inning as the Golden Eagles went on to post a 6-2 victory in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game Thursday afternoon against Oswego at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale, Florida.

The Lakers (8-2 Overall, 1-1 SUNYAC) came back to post a 5-0 win in the second game of the conference doubleheader. The teams will finish the three-game series Friday morning at Chain of Lakes Park in Winter Haven.

In the first game of the doubleheader Thursday both Brockport (8-3, 1-1) and Oswego sent their top starting pitchers to the mound and the game was a great pitching duel as both allowed a single run in the sixth inning with Brockport's Matthew Coleman (Ballston Spa, NY/Clifton Park) going seven strong innings and the Oswego starter pitching into the 10th inning.

With the score tied 1-1 in the 12th inning, catcher Shawn Peake (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) walked to open the inning and he was lifted for a pinch runner as Jimmy Lovelass (Vestal, NY/Vestal) was inserted to run the bases. Brendan Swayne (Seaford, NY/Plainedge) singled up the middle to put runners on first and second. Corey Hamula (Elmira, NY/Elmira Southside) bunted down the third base line and reached base as the lead runner was thrown out at third but an errant throw in an attempts to turn the double play allowed Swayne to advance to third and Hamula ended up at second.

Jake Kenney (Hornell, NY/Alfred-Almond) followed with a run-scoring single through the right side of the infield giving Brockport a 2-1 lead. Tracy followed with a triple down the left field line to score Hamula and Kenney and extend the lead to 4-1. Still with one out in the inning, Mike Gianni (Jamesville, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt) singled through the left side of the infield to score Tracy and Wesley Burghardt (Chittenango, NY/Chittenango) single with both he and Gianni moving into scoring position.

Dan Hurlimann (Rochester, NY/Hilton) lifted a sacrifice fly to left field scoring Gianni and capping the five-run 12th inning.

Oswego scored on a home run in the bottom of the inning for the final score.

In game two, Oswego scored a run in the second inning and added three more in the third before pushing one more run across the plate in the fifth for a 5-0 final as Brockport was limited to just two hits in the seven-inning nightcap.

Burghardt, Gianni and Hamula led the balanced attack with two hits each in the two games. Tracy led the way with two runs batted in.

Coleman allowed four hits and one run while striking out six including the first four Oswego batters in the game. Rob Stankiewicz (New Windsor, NY/Newburgh Free Academy) was credited with the victory in relief with 2 1/3 shutout innings.
