Box Score

Senior Kyle Tracy (Plainview, NY/Bethpage) had two hits, two walks, three stolen bases, four runs scored and two runs batted in leading The College at Brockport Baseball team to a 13-5 win Monday afternoon over RIT in a non-conference matchup in Rochester.

It was the sixth consecutive victory and eighth in the last nine contests for Brockport (19-10).

The Golden Eagles scored three times in each of the first two innings for the early 6-0 lead. RIT (15-10) came back with two runs in the bottom of the second and one in the third but Brockport added another run in the fourth and three more in the fifth for a 10-3 lead.

Two Tiger runs in the bottom of the fifth made it 10-5 but the Golden Eagles added three more runs in the eighth for the final score.

The hits and runs came early and often for Brockport. Tracy led off the game with a walk and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt before stealing third and coming home on an errant throw. Wesley Burghardt (Chittenango, NY/Chittenango) walked and Dan Hurlimann (Rochester, NY/Hilton) continued his recent hot hitting with his team-leading fourth home run of the season to make it a 3-0 lead early.

In the second inning with two on and one out, Tracy singled to score Brendan Swayne (Seaford, NY/Plainedge). Anthony Barbetto (New City, NY/Clarkstown North) scored on a ground out and Tracy came home on a Burghardt single for the 6-0 Brockport lead.

In the fourth inning, Tracy drew a two-out walk, stole second and scored on a Mike Gianni (Jamesville, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt) single for a 7-3 Brockport advantage.

The Golden Eagles added three more in the fifth when Jake Kenney (Hornell, NY/Alfred-Almond) hit a one out single with two runners on to score Hurlimann from second. Shawn Peake (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) walked to load the bases and Swayne followed bouncing a ball to the right side of he infield but a throwing error allowed two runs to score.

In the eighth inning, three more Brockport runners came home as Swayne and Tracy each scored on separate wild pitches and Barbetto trotted home on Tracy's triple to right centerfield to complete the scoring.

Brockport used four pitchers as Mike McFerran (Albany, NY/Catholic Central) started and earned his fourth win of the season.
