Box Score Junior Wesley Burghardt (Chittenango, NY/Chittenango) drove in two runs as The College at Brockport Baseball team fell to Clarkson 11-3 in a non-conference game Saturday night in Auburndale, Florida.

In the top of the fourth inning, Burghardt stepped to the plate with two runners in scoring position and Brockport down 3-0.  A sac fly to left field scored junior Brett Sanders (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) who drew a walk to start the inning.  Clarkson scored six runs in the bottom half of the inning to extend their lead to 9-1.

The Golden Eagles responded in the top of the fifth with a double from senior Brendan Swayne (Seaford, NY/Plainedge) and a single from junior Eli Carrera (Rochester, NY/Franklin) to put runners on second and third with one out.  Swayne scored as senior Anthony Barbetto (New City, NY/Clarkstown North) hit a grounder that appeared to be an inning-ending double play but beat out the throw to first base.

Junior Josh Martin (Depew, NY/Depew) scored Brockport's final run of the game in the eighth inning as Burghardt grounded out to short.  Burghardt finished the game 1-for-3 with 2 RBI.  Senior Jeffrey Prouse (Eden, ONT/Glendale) struck out two over 3 1/3 innings in the loss.

Brockport's Spring Training Trip continues Monday as they face Springfield College at 9:30 am at Chain of Lakes Park.
