BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport women's basketball team is set to travel to Buffalo State this afternoon for their second with Buffalo State Bengals. The Golden Eagles will then host Potsdam and Plattsburgh this weekend for a conference double header. The Green and Gold are coming off of an upset over Geneseo this past weekend where they were able to make big strides in the SUNYAC ranks. The team currently holds a 6-9 overall record and 3-5 in conference play.
Bested by the Bengals: The Golden Eagles will open up the week against the Bengals at the Buffalo State Sports Arena. The Bengal's are currently 9-6 overall and 5-3 in the SUNYAC, ranked just above the Golden Eagles in conference standings. The last time these two teams met, the Golden Eagles suffered a tough 68-54 loss at the hands of the Bengals to pick up their third conference loss of the year.

Zaria McCullough moved the offense for the Green and Gold, each sinking eight points apiece. The Bengals strength came from senior Liv Lebaron who put up a double-double performance, sinking 20 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.
We Back Pat: This Friday, the Golden Eagles will partner with the Pat Summit Foundation to host their fourth annual We Back Pat fundraiser. The foundation raises money to help fight Alzheimer's disease by awarding grants to organizations to help treat, prevent, cure, and ultimately eradicate this disease, to educate and bring awareness about Alzheimer's, its onset and treatment and to provide support services to patients, their families and caregivers.
"We are very fortunate that we can raise awareness for Alzheimer's disease via the sport that we love. Pat Summit is a legend in our sport and her legacy will live through us on Friday night as we take on Potsdam. It's so much bigger than basketball."
The Green and Gold will be accepting donations before, during and after Friday's contest as well as selling purple ribbons.
Where We Rank: With only ten games left in the regular season, the Golden Eagles are putting up a consistent fighting effort to make a post season push. The Green and Gold currently rank 6th overall in field goal percentage, 5th in three-point percentage, 4th in free throw percentage, 6th in rebounds per game, 7th in assists per game and 7th in points per game.
Neighbors to the North: The Golden Eagles welcome Potsdam and Plattsburgh to the Jim and John Vlogianitis Gymnasium this Friday and Saturday for their second meeting of the year. Both the Bears and the Cardinals come into this weekend's contest with a 3-6 record in conference play. When both teams met at the beginning of the month, the Golden Eagles walked away with a pair of home court wins.
Potsdam's offense is currently by sophomore Devyn Elliot who currently leads the team with 246 points, averaging 16.4 per game. Elliot also ranks third overall in the SUNYAC in total points and second overall in total rebounds with 169. Teammate Dyamon Hunter joins her amongst the ranks, averaging 14.8 points per game and ranking sixth overall in the SUNYAC in total points at 222. Forward Jakia Howard also finds herself amongst the league's best rebounders, ranked third overall at 161.
Plattsburg's offense finds strength in number 12 Theresa Quinn, who currently leads the team in scoring with 166 points while averaging 10.4 per game. On the defensive end, senior Taylor Clare has been essential on the boards, averaging 8.9 rebounds per game while also ranking fifth overall in the SUNYAC in total rebounds with 139.
Brockport's Best: Although the Golden Eagles have found themselves struggling to put together continued team wins, the team has had a couple of athletes who have put up strong efforts individually. A few familiar names that find themselves amongst the SUNYAC's best include:
Erin Radack – 5th overall in three-point percentage (35.7)
Chelsea Henry – 7th overall in free throw percentage (78.9)
Rosbrook – 8th overall in free throw percentage (77.5)
Taylor – 9th overall in points (202)
A Week on the Road: The Golden Eagles will be on the road all of next week, starting with Fredonia on Tuesday followed by Oneonta and New Paltz on Friday and Saturday.
