Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's basketball team looks to jump out to a 3-0 start to the season Tuesday night. Brockport travels to the nearby University of Rochester for a 7 pm tip-off.
Tip-Off Tournament Recap: The Golden Eagles won their 4
th straight Brockport Tip-Off Tournament Championship last weekend. After defeating Medaille College, 69-50, on day one, they came back the next day to blowout Morrisville, 70-40, in the Championship Game.
Anna Felice led the team in scoring throughout the tournament, and was named the Brockport Tip-Off Most Valuable Player. Teammate
Kylee Rosbrook posted a double-double in the championship to earn a spot on the Brockport Tip-Off All-Tournament Team.
Putting up Points: Anna Felice is currently the leading scorer, as the junior is averaging 15.5 points per game. She scored a career-high 16 points in the season opener before following up with 15 points the next day. She is shooting just below 40% from long range, making seven shots from downtown in two games.
Erin Nolan has been a welcome new addition this year, as the graduate student is second on the team averaging nine points per game. She poured in 12 points in her debut with Brockport in the season opener.
In the Paint: Brockport has totaled 58 points in the painted area so far, averaging 29 per game. Forward
Erin Nolan has been incredibly efficient, shooting 77.8% from the floor and doing most of her work down low. She has also shot a perfect 4-for-4 at the foul line thus far. In the win over Morrisville the squad posted 36 points in the paint and almost had three forwards reach double-digit scoring.
Eliza Conyers notched 11 points,
Kylee Rosbrook had 10 points, and
Serena Sordetto put up nine points in the contest. Attacking the painted area and defending the paint has been crucial to this 2-0 start, as Brockport is outscoring its opponents by 34 around the basket.
Crashing the Glass: The Green and Gold showed dominance on the boards last weekend on the way to winning the Tip-Off Tournament Championship. The team out worked both Medaille and Morrisville on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Brockport won the rebounding battle 47-38 against Medaille and dominated the glass 60-27 against Morrisville. It was a team effort in crashing the glass, as four players are currently averaging more than five boards a game.

Molly Mahony each are grabbing six per game, while
Serena Sordetto is snagging 5.5 a night.
Off the Bench: Depth is key for a successful season and so far the reserves have made a strong impact for the Golden Eagles.
Serena Sordetto and
Anna Lee are both top five in the team in scoring from their roles off the bench. Sordetto is third on the squad with an average of 7.5 points per game and is fourth on the team in rebounding.
Anna Lee had a big night in her collegiate debut, shooting 3-for-5 from deep to post 12 points. She is averaging seven points per game off the bench as a freshman. Lee is joined by
Eliza Conyers as the two bench players that have reached double-digit points for the squad already this year.
Battle of the Unbeatens: The University of Rochester Yellowjackets join Brockport with an undefeated record early this season, as they stand at 3-0 heading into the matchup. U of R has dominated its opponents so far, winning by an average margin of 23.7 points. The Yellowjackets beat Buffalo State, 91-55, in the season opener, then went on to earn wins over New Paltz (83-66) and Southern Virginia (74-56). All three of their games so far have been at home this season as they are unbeaten at the Louis Alexander Palestra. #21 Hannah Lindemuth currently leads the team averaging 15 points per game, while teammates #5 Alexis Sestric and #33 Haley Dumiak also average double-digit points. The Yellowjackets enter the contest shooting 44.7% from the field, 30.9% from deep, and 63.3% from the foul line.
Looking Ahead: This weekend Brockport is on the road once again for a trip to Geneva, NY. The squad will take on the William Smith College Herons on Saturday, starting at 4 pm.
