Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's basketball team looks to bounce back on the road Friday night against Buffalo State. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 pm tip-off.
 
Last Time Out: Brockport dropped to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the SUNYAC after losing to Oswego State, 58-85, in the last game. The visiting Lakers had a big first half, heading into halftime with a 51-26 lead. The deficit proved to be too large, as Oswego cruised through the finish line to take the win.
 
End of the Streak: The Green and Gold lost at home in the recent matchup with Oswego, snapping the incredible 19-game winning streak at the Jim and John Vlogianitis Gymnasium. After a 2-0 start at home this season and the team finishing the 2019-20 season 15-0 at home, the loss was the first home defeat since February 15^th, 2019.
 
Bouncing Back: The Golden Eagles have won eight straight games coming back to the gym after a loss in their last outing. This spans back to the 2018-19 season, which was the last time they have lost two games in a row. Losses on January 25^th-26^th of 2019 marks the last back-to-back defeats for the squad. Head Coach Greg Dunne has done a great job of getting his team to refocus and perform well in bounce back games.
 
Team Stats: As a team, Brockport is scoring 74.6 points per game and allowing 65.1 points to its opponents. The squad is sporting a field goal percentage of 44.5%, shooting 31.5% from beyond the arc, and connecting on 66% of all free throw attempts. Narrowly winning the rebounding battle, Brockport is grabbing 40.6 boards a game for a +1.7-rebound margin on average. With wins of 91-68 and 100-81, the Green and Gold got the better of Buffalo State in both meetings during the 2019-20 season. Brockport has won nine of the last 10 outings against the Bengals. Averaging 25.9 points per game, #4 Sheldon Adams is the leading scorer in the conference this season. #32 Philbert Weekes is averaging a double-double, posting 11.8 points and 16.3 rebounds a game.
 
Mauro Panaggio Tournament: The Golden Eagles will next prepare for their flight down to Daytona Beach, FL where they will compete in the annual Mauro Panaggio Tournament. They will play Penn State Altoona on December 20^th and Piedmont University on the 21^st at DME Academy.
