Last Time Out: This past weekend the Golden Eagles won four straight games, sweeping doubleheaders against both Fredonia and St. John Fisher. They beat Fredonia 16-10 and 14-6, then took down Fisher 9-5 and 10-4. Andrew Huffman, Tom Kretzler, Kyle Canavally, and Trevor McCarthy all got wins as starters on the mound during the weekend's stretch of games.

5 in a Row: Brockport has now won five games in a row, starting with a win in game two of a doubleheader against Oswego on April 3rd. This hot streak for the team has improved its record to 8-2 overall and 5-1 in SUNYAC competition. The Green and Gold have scored at least 10 runs in four of the five wins during this span, and have only surrendered double-digit runs once. Look for the team to carry this momentum into the upcoming week's schedule.

Going Yard: Tom Kretzler had not homered this season, prior to this past weekend. In four games, Kretzler went yard four times as he hit two against Fredonia and two more against Fisher. Nicholas Pastore got in on the fun as well, notching his first two home runs of the season against St. John Fisher over the weekend. In his first collegiate at-bat, freshman Brian Tietjen knocked the ball over the fence for his first career homer against Fredonia. Brockport has now hit 11 total home runs as a team in 2021 and only given up four to opposing teams.

Still Streaking: Matt O'Dair continued his hitting streak through the four games over the weekend. O'Dair has now recorded at least one hit in nine consecutive games for the Golden Eagles, leading them in both hits (18) and batting average (.600). Having a great start to 2021, he is tied for first on the team in RBIs (13) and doubles (5). The third baseman owns a .684 on base percentage and is also 3-for-3 on stolen bases.

On the Mound: Trevor McCarthy (2-0) leads the Brockport pitching staff with 20 strikeouts and a 1.96 ERA in 18.1 innings of action. Kyle Canavally (2-1) is second with 19 strikeouts and has pitched for 14.1 innings so far this season. Tom Kretzler (2-0) has sat down 17 batters while on the mound and teammate Andrew Huffman (2-0) has struck out 16. The four man starting rotation has been working well so far for the pitching staff, which holds a 3.99 ERA as a whole.

Divisional Standings: The SUNYAC West is made up of Brockport, Fredonia, and Oswego for the 2021 season. The current divisional standings are as follows: 1. Brockport, 2. Oswego, 3. Fredonia. The SUNYAC East is made up of Plattsburgh, Cortland, Oneonta, and New Paltz. The standings for the east are as follows: 1. Cortland, 2. Oneonta, 3. New Paltz, 4. Plattsburgh.

Looking at RIT: The Tigers are currently 4-9 overall and hold a 0-4 record against Liberty League opponents this season. They recently got swept by the University of Rochester this past weekend in a four-game series. RIT has now lost six straight contests heading into this week's matchup with Brockport.

Looking at Fredonia: This will be the third doubleheader between Brockport and Fredonia this season. Currently at 0-6 overall and in the SUNYAC, the Blue Devils are looking to get in the win column this weekend. They take on Penn State Behrend on Wednesday prior to Saturday's doubleheader.

Up Next: The Golden Eagles are on the road once again on Tuesday, April 20th. They travel for a SUNYAC matchup with Cortland, starting at 12 pm.
